Canadian preservative-treated wood is manufactured to CSA standards. To ensure that the specified degree of protection will be provided by a product, where applicable it should bear stamp indicating its suitability for the intended end use.
General Guidelines for Preservative-Treated Wood
- Use preservative-treated wood for damp conditions especially in proximity to the ground and where insect attack is a risk.
- Minimize the field cuts after pressure-treatment. Apply two coats of preservative-treatment to protect field cuts.
- Verify that the chemical retention specified for a project is delivered to the jobsite.
