Son \u00e9conomie repose sur le tourisme, les industries du p\u00e9trole, du gaz et de la foresterie. Le nouveau Centre gouvernemental et la biblioth\u00e8que de Slave Lake ont \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7us et construits pour regrouper un certain nombre de services gouvernementaux, situ\u00e9s dans des installations obsol\u00e8tes, qui \u00e9taient dispers\u00e9s dans toute la communaut\u00e9 de Slave Lake.
