The first wave of mass timber buildings are starting to come to fruition. Toronto has seen mass timber as the material of choice for residential and commercial projects. These projects are intended to address market demands for sustainable buildings and the efficiency of panelization and prefabrication. This presentation discusses the design challenges and alternative solutions of mass timber construction for office, residential, and institutional buildings.
